I don’t think they work very well. They are not worth the money.

Can I perform laser hair removal in NY state without a license/certification?

Question by Danielle T: Can I perform laser hair removal in NY state without a license/certification?
I have a job opportunity to perform laser hair removal… but without becoming “certified.” Is this legal in NYS? It would work more like an apprenticeship.

Why can’t I drink alcohol after a laser hair removal session?

February 17th, 2012 1 comment

Question by tokixjam: Why can’t I drink alcohol after a laser hair removal session?
So I had my first laser hair removal procedure done on my underarms today.

What found strange was that one of the after care instructions was “No drinking alcohol until a week after the procedure”.

I have tried to Google this and find out why, but nothing has come up. The only thing I can think of is because alcohol thins the blood? But I don’t quite see the correlation with laser hair removal.

I’m wondering if anyone who has gotten this procedure done before has been told the same thing or if a dermatologist can help me.

Hi,

I have had laser and IPL hair removal treatments myself for years at many different clinics and have never ever been told this. I’ve read a number of different aftercare advice sheets and have never come across this. Not sure why they are telling you not to drink alcohol – you should ask your clinic.

I can say from personal experience that I have been out for drinks straight after laser hair removal treatments and haven’t experienced any side effects!!

Question by ☮: How much does laser hair removal cost?
ballpark range. I was thinking of getting my “bikini area” done because it’s f*cking annoying to shave and wax all the time. Any experiences with laser hair removal you’d like to share?

Question by Lubyloo: Is laser hair removal safe for pregnant women?
My husband and I are trying to conceive and I was wondering if laser hair removal is safe for me or not if I get “prego.” Thanks!

It’s not really known whether it’s safe or not therefore they recommend you stop during your pregnancy and continue after the birth. I too, had to postpone my treatments until after I have the baby.

You know how the church tells us to “accept our bodies” and “live with what God gave you”?

What if you get laser hair removal? Is that a sin?

Is it safe to do laser hair removal during pregnancy?

February 6th, 2012 8 comments

Question by LondonLou: Is it safe to do laser hair removal during pregnancy?
I read this and similar statements, what do you think?

“The consensus seems that laser hair removal is totally safe during early pregnancy. One thing, though, don’t share your early pregnancy with the laser center technicians; they are afraid of liability and will give you useless advice and probably refuse to continue your treatment sessions, even though they are not medical professionals by any means and don’t know anything more than what you or I do. :) My reputable OB told me it was very safe, but the laser tech sent me packing”.
To Jenny A: It’s the last appointment. I booked 4 sessions @ 6 -8 weeks apart, and I have one session left for it to be complete without regrowth.

Does a long delay negatively affect laser hair removal?

February 2nd, 2012 1 comment

Question by Scott Andrew: Does a long delay negatively affect laser hair removal?
So I went for 4 treatments of laser hair removal and then was supposed to go for my 5th treatment after 6 weeks… However due to unforeseen circumstances it’s been about 16 weeks and I’m now going for my 5th treatment. Will this “hurt” the overall results in the end? I assume it shouldn’t as the hair that has already been removed is still gone correct? This will just make the whole process take longer?

Best answer:

Answer by Bunny
The hair grows in 6 week cycles and can only be removed in I believe the 1st cycle. It will not affect the hairs that have already been zapped, but it could affect the hairs you have left if they are not in the right stage of growth. But I’d think that since it’s your last one there shouldn’t be very much left anyways.

How do I shave my underarm after having 7 sessions of laser hair removal?

January 31st, 2012 1 comment

Question by paoroble: How do I shave my underarm after having 7 sessions of laser hair removal?
Here is the deal: I underwent 7 sessions of laser hair removal but now (after 3 months) I’m noticing the hair is growing again: it’s very very thin, blond, and of about 1 cm. long already; I know you can barely see it but I’m still uncomfortable and self conscious going sleeveless.

Right now I’m unable to pay for more sessions, so I’m wondering which method would do “less harm” to the results? wax, electric shaver, or razors?

I’d appreciate if you share what you know about this…
Thanks!

I think you should try waxing it. Waxing can cause your hair to grow less over time anyway.
