I NEVER buy anything that someone tries to sell me over the phone or at my front door. My home is my sanctuary, a place to relax and enjoy my family and friends. When telemarketers invade my home, I inform them that when I wish to purchase something I will go to a store or order online or possibly order from a catalog, but I will not order from someone who invades my home and interrupts my meals or relaxation. =-)

I signed up on a list several years and the calls stopped. Now I am getting approx. 6 calls a day. Did something happen that I don’t know about that would result in these annoying calls?

No. It is still www.donotcall.gov. At one time it was set to expire after 5 years but it was extended. The government has used all its resources to fight terrorism. There have been only 4 prosecutions against phone scammers. So the scammers have gotten brave. www.800NOTES.com (not my website) has lists of all the scammers. You can enter a phone number of a caller and find who it was because others have searched and found them.

This goes for my landline, and my cell phone. I live in Brooklyn, NY and I think my phone service is cingular, if that makes any difference.

Question by Eddie Robertson: How can I stop payday loans collection calls?
I need help with my payday loans. I have gotten in over my head in debt to payday lenders and they are calling me at all hours, at work and even bothering my family members and references.
I make regular payments, I just did not expect this type of harassment when I signed up.
Can anyone recommend what to do to make them stop?

From what I’ve heard on TV from the “experts”. If you tell them to stop calling you, they have to.
