Question by R – G: Anybody else had a problem with “doorstep loans” salesmen?
I had this gobshyte call to my house regarding a Provident loan with an APR of 150% that I was supposed to have applied for online.
I’m kind of wondering if this crap about me having supposed to have applied online is part of a dishonest sales tactic, or whether someone has filled in an application with my name & address as a rather bad practical joke.

Not as such, there have been alot of people calling around for insurance which i don’t agree with, if people want insurance they don’t arrange on the doorstep.
They’re scam artists, you know you didn’t fill in any forms online and i doubt anyone did in your name, if it happens again ask for their name and the companies name and report them.

Question by bubble: Is anybody getting telemarketing calls on their cell phone?
I always thought they’d only call your home number but apparently not. This morning my cell phone woke me up and it was the same “courtesy” call I’ve been getting on my home phone for like half a year now! Has anybody else been getting or has gotten any type of telemarketing calls on your cell phone before?
I only text occasionally and only to a few of my close friends, nobody or nothing else. What puzzles me is that it’s the same call I’ve been getting on my home phone. They’ve been calling for months and months now, about 3 calls a day.

Nope….but I think I know why…sometimes organizations(like the places you text after seeing a commercial) sell your # to telemarketers. And the only way I heard of for getting rid of that is paying for an extra service to block that. Or if it’s just 1 #, have your provider block the #.

Question by future: Does anybody besides me remember what “subprime loans” used to be called in 1989?
“Subprime loans” were what also caused the brutal 1989 Housing and Bank crash, and brutal Recession while George H Bush was President.
They used to be called “BALLOON PAYMENT” loans – the banks gave them out again – because they could.
Because Bush and his Republican Congress deregulated loan bundling again, which had been illegal since 1989, and for very good reason.
Has Fox TV been able to obscure this recent historical fact yet?
Oops, yes they have. And you can read people totally ignorant of this simple fact all day long here.
Nobody made banks give loans to people who couldn’t pay back – in fact the “housing act” loans – WHICH WEREN’T SUBPRIME LOANS BY THE WAY – actually defaulted at a LOWER RATE THAN THE GENERAL PUBLIC, because they at least had some requirements, unlike the banks who were giving them to anybody with a pulse, no paychecks even required.
Another thing your fake news station won’t tell you.
Citation – no it is NOT true that Obama “sued” Citibank to make “subprime loans” – that’s the right wing lie.
They sued them to get them to stop blacklisting people from minority areas with the SAME QUALIFICATIONS as buyers in other areas – subprime loans had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AT THAT POINT BECAUSE THEY WERE ILLEGAL ACCORDING TO THE LENDING RESTRICTION LAWS in place since the 1989 Crash – WHICH OBAMA AND HIS REPUBLICAN CONGRESS CANCELLED!

Subprime loans and loan bundling are two different things.

Question by Erica: Anybody know any good “work from home” jobs that are legit?
I’m a student and I just lost my full time job. I would really love to just find a good job working from home. I don’t want to do telemarketing and everything I’ve found seems to be a scam or not profitable. Any advice?

You can start a resume writing service and market to your fellow students. It really is a needed service in this type of economy.
