With ACN, How can I get my back?

April 30th, 2012 1 comment

Question by ATBC: With ACN, How can I get my back?
I have recently joined ACN and paid about $ 500 for training material package. A few days after, I bought 3 digital modem units ($ 68/each) with a hope of “helping” customers to save their money on long distance calling. Then, I found that it’s kind of expensive compare to other services if I sell that to the people I know, so I don’t sell.

Today, I check out my credit card statement. The company charges me monthly service charge of $ 27.00/each. Why is that? I haven’t signed any contract of opening a service!

Perhap some people succeed with network marketing and many people believe that it is a scam. I don’t know what to say regarding this issue. But I want to have my money back. I even want to file a small claim or so.

Please help me with your advice before I go and file a claim or start a conversation with ACN top-tier mans.

Thank you so much.

They probably have you on an “auto-ship” status where theu automatically bill your CC to keep you active (where you keep your position) in the company.

As a rule of thumb I do not ever consider a company that makes you pay for training (CD,Marketing tips, etc…) or a company that requires you to purchase product or keep inventory. Somewhere in the wording you agreed to this being done.

I appreciate you not coming here and labeling ACN a scam (I am no way affiliated with them) because when one company in MLM is labeled a scam it hurts all of us in the industry.

I only wish I could have found you for my team, you sound like a level headed person.

What do you think? Answer below!

How to convince cousin get out of marketing scheme.?

April 26th, 2012 4 comments

Question by AZ: How to convince cousin get out of marketing scheme.?
I have an aunt who belongs to this Quixtar company, and she always wanted to get me and my cousin into it. My cousin and I hated the whole idea of network marketing because of the fact that all my aunt is doing is buying a lot of unnecessary things at home.

Last night i found out my cousin has finally give in to the temptation call “Market America”. His reason for joining is
1. His friends are in it
2. Young people organization (not some mad mom quixtar)
3. The pretty picture of earning more than any professional

I swear these presentation really can brainwash people.
What really concern me is that my cousin actually said if everything goes well, he might as well drop out of college (aka giving up his pharmarcical goal).

Quixtar is the new AmWay. AmWay is MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) but is a very successful one. It’s along the level of Mary Kay and other large successful MLM companies. While MLM isn’t inherently bad, many people fail at it. It is hard work, like being a used car salesman.

As long as he isn’t dumping rent money or grocery money into this thing, the best way is just to let him do it. If he’s successful, you’ll be happy for him and if not, it’ll go away once he looses interest. However, the most likely thing is that he’ll make a few sales and get his money back then quit the business because strictly commission sales is rough.

Just let it slide for a while. It’ll work itself out.

name of system when group shop at one location to reduce cost of product and save $?

Question by MrQ: name of system when group shop at one location to reduce cost of product and save $ ?
I am trying to figure out what do you call it when people group up and buy products at a supermarket or retailer in bulk and in doing so the price of the product is reduced.
And when I say they buy in bulk I mean each person buy one product but the whole group buy the products in bulk. What kind of system is that. I don’t think its “alliance” or “network marketing.”

Don’t you agree that network marketers?

April 20th, 2012 1 comment

Question by thebigachiever: Don’t you agree that network marketers?
should STOP trying to build their businesses by telling people what their business is NOT and start telling people what it IS?
I see many MANY offers on here where people are saying up front, that their business is NOT A SCAM. That’s no way to build a business. It’s stupid and is a sign of lack and a sign of weakness.
Network marketing involves targeting the appropriate market for your biz or products. Simply sharing what your opportunity IS, is sufficient to attract the desired type of people into business with you.
EVERYONE’s claiming that their opportunity is ‘NOT A SCAM’.
In my experience, many who make that claim don’t even know what makes their biz a scam because they’re too caught up in the hype of “we have the most awesome products”. There’s so much more to it than that…
My advice to all of you is simply this…
STOP using the phrase,”NOT A SCAM”. There are people in your life who will NEVER trust anything…let them be that way. Just avoid telling them about your business.

I get tired of all the hype about the great products and glowing testimonials. All I want to know is HOW to do it, not how great it is for everyone else! DETAILS, how do I literally step-by-step truly make money on the computer?

Sleepees/Skinees – Marketing scam?

April 16th, 2012 3 comments

Question by oddfish: Sleepees/Skinees – Marketing scam?
A friend of mine is trying to convince me to get involved what I can see as a network marketing scheme selling two health products, Sleepees and Skinees.

In my cursory due dilegence, I evaluated the company’s website (http://ourworldnetwork.com). Finding 99% of the site’s content refers to its marketing program and 1% (if even that) is on the product is a bit disconcerning consider this is a health product.

The product description is a mere mention of its “natural, harmless” non-addictive ingredients. That’s all. No independent medical reports, no testing, no government approvals.

So I like to hear back from people and especially medical folks that have heard about this product. Is this a marketing scam or does this stuff work?

Best answer:

Answer by Marcello
I am not in the medical profession so I won’t attempt to comment on their product, but I am in the business profession and analyze business ventures for a living. I have analyzed the MLM industry and have made up my mind that MLM is a poor choice. There are other business ventures I also do not endorse, so it has nothing to do with any bias, although defensive MLMers will call my reasoning just that because they cannot refute the logic.

The fact is that MLM/Network Marketing ventures are typically filled with an over abundance of hype that you must sort through to get to the meat of the deal, and the reason is because that hype is needed in order to have everyone recruit people which is typically where money is made in MLM (and its fundamental flaw).

A couple questions you should consider:

-would you or your upline/sponsor/friend have any interest in selling this product if you could only make money selling the product and not signing up other people. Most people in MLM are not salespeople and if you can’t sell the product for a living, how do you propose to bring other people into your downline on the basis of the product and not the pyramid.

-could you actually make an acceptable income only selling the product. Again, similar to above, most MLM companies are set up where the only real chance for an individual to make money is in sponsoring other people, not selling the products. The fact that you think 99% of the focus is on sponsoring rather than sales is a tell tale sign that this is merely a pyramid scheme (whether its legal or not makes no difference).

-would you even have an interest in the this product if the idea of making money with it was not an option. Most people get into MLM for the supposed big money then convince themselves the product is so great. Convince yourself of the product LONG before you even consider selling it…becuase if the product is unworthy, than how could the business opportunity possibly have any merit.

-if this is being presented to you as a business opportunity, will your friend, or anyone who is successful willingly share you their provable income/expenses (likely with a tax return) as would be done in any other business. This is the biggest one and most frequent road block you will run into. There is so much hype in MLM and if not the one trying to sponsor you, there is always supposedly someone that is making a killing by running the business meaning you can too. However, if I was to buy a franchise and my associate was running a successful franchise, we would undoubtedly go in detail through the numbers so I could analyze my own prediction of future revenue and profit. But in MLM, you often run into a road block because suddenly that information is “personal” and “none of your business”. If you are being told that people are making money in this business yet no one is willing/able to prove it, you can bet its not true. Its either a business opportunity where numbers like revenue, expenses, profit, market share, etc are important, or is not. If those verified numbers are not being shared, then just like any other business in that situation, you know something doesn’t add up (most likely no one is actually making the money they are suggesting).

Anyhow, this is basic food for thought. Perhaps you can also take a look at common MLM issues in another question i answered before you make your decision as it might help give you some additional guidance…check here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AursQD6056SRKQcIzInll4vsy6IX?qid=20060828175009AAaVsvO

Question directed ONLY to Network Marketers/MLMrs.?

April 14th, 2012 No comments

Question by Laura J: Question directed ONLY to Network Marketers/MLMrs.?
Because you have joined your Network Marketing business, on a deeper level, what does network marketing mean to you? For example, “It’s a way for an ordinary person to earn extraordinary income.” – Please do not link to an offer or advertise. It degrades your credibility to onlookers who are uninformed. Thanks in advance.

Best answer:

Answer by Mexico4me
Network Marketing has taught me that the true measure of wealth is net worth, not working income. Working income is important, but it is only one of the four factors that determine your net worth.

MLM is a vehicle of income for me that helps me have the time, freedom and money to invest in other forms of income.

Most companies are very turn-key which makes them inexpensive to get into, and all of the mechanics have been figured out for you. A person with no business background can learn as they grow, especially if they have excellent training and mentoring. It also gives you the opportunity to learn from and rub shoulders with some very influential people who are very positive thinkers and dedicated to success. In time, you can’t help but be like them.
I find it gives the average person the opportunity to learn about business and really grow as a person while earning more than they ever could at an ordinary job.

Why do people keep giving me shady business offers?

April 13th, 2012 No comments

Question by : Why do people keep giving me shady business offers?
I’m so sick of it. I work retail and there have been multiple instances where someone tries to get me to make some “extra cash”. Some are network marketing, some are just shady. And today, a guy approached me in the store and named some company I’ve never heard of and he said I could basically get some “quick cash” if I was interested. Something to do with loans or something.

Am I being overly suspicious or is this weird? I’ve started giving out fake phone numbers.
